Does God care about men more than woman?

According to Yahoo Answers “….God loves everyone! I think that you need to realize that God doesn’t stereotype. We do. Women play a very important role in life. If we were gone, there would be no more babies. There would be no more men for Him to love. Besides all that, Hey, We may have equal intelligence in some areas but let me tell you right now. We are so much smarter. Be all that you can be. And guess what? You don’t even have to be in the army….”

Sin began with a woman, and thanks to her we must all die. —Ecclesiaticus, Second Century B.C.E.

You are the devil’s gateway; you are the unsealer of that forbidden tree; you are the first deserter of the divine law. You destroyed so easily God’s image, man. —TERTULLIAN, on The Apparel of Women, Second Century C.E.

The above are ancient verses NOT FROM THE BIBLE that were used to justify discrimination against women. Even today their are some extremist that still attempting to use it and uphold this view. Lets see how did Jesus deal with women? The same way he treated everyone else…with love and respect. This was definitely contrary to the societal rules of his day. Jesus commended those women who stepped out of the traditional roles for their gender to be his followers, to be his disciples.

Does God care about men more than woman?

No. Genesis 1:27 states:  “God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.” So from the very beginning, humans—both male and female—were created with the ability to reflect God’s qualities. Although Adam and Eve had their own unique emotional and physical makeup, they both received the same commission and enjoyed the same rights before their Maker.- Genesis 1:28-31.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.”

“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”-Prov. 31:10-13, 26-31.
